Another Panda tip

On thing I forgot to mention in my last post about Google Panda was that Panda is a site-wide ‘penalty’.  What this means is that if you have a enough ‘low quality’ pages on your website then the whole site can be affected.

That’s worrying – not least because ‘low quality’ isn’t particularly well defined.

How to fix it? Who knows?  But I’d suggest going through your entire site and looking objectively at what you’re offering your visitors.

One tip is to use the site: query in Google and look at what’s ranking on those lower pages.  Our site has a load of cached pages for each tag in the blog.  They’re offering nothing whatsoever so I think I’ll robots.txt them out of the results.
