Case Study – Sandringham Carpets
Continuing our series of case studies, we take a look at a company who were looking to move their image upmarket and whose website was causing them a bit of trouble. They approached Mass Media Design to for some help…
Sandringham Carpets supplies carpets exclusively to the interior design industry. They offer a wide range of off-the-shelf and bespoke carpets and work closely with their very discerning clients to deliver excellent service.
Sandringham had decided they wanted to portray a more upmarket image in order to improve target market appeal. With their website as their main marketing channel, the company wanted to update the site to reflect this change of image and were keen to have something they were proud to share with interior designers.
There were also a number of technical issues with their website. It required waiting for and paying developers in order to complete basic actions like adding products and was also not mobile responsive. This was a major issue given the increasing use of mobile devices to access the web.
What we did
Our marketing consultant had already developed a very good relationship with Sandringham and understood their business well. She regularly talked to Sandringham’s clients so knew what interior designers appreciated about working with the team at Sandringham.
We talked to the client about the direction of their business, and agreed an appropriate structure to help the visitor journey through the site. We also felt this was a great opportunity to refresh the company’s branding and proposed some tweaks to their logo.
Once the design was signed off, the website was built on the WordPress platform to offer maximum flexibility and security. Ease of use was critical, so we customised the administration area to make it easy to add and remove product ranges and keep the site up to date.
The design made it easy for the marketing team to brief photographers to ensure future imagery was consistent with the branding and website.
The Sandringham team were bowled over with their new site. They were so delighted with their new branding that they then asked us to create new marketing collateral for them including business stationery, price lists and brochures. We also developed more unusual point of sale materials such as carpet labels, tape and bags.
Finally, we designed a set of document templates which our marketing consultant is able to use for purposes such as producing technical specifications, cleaning guides and marketing campaigns.
We continue to work with the client on the design and creation of marketing materials, and occasional design tweaks to their website.
